Rudy's Pizza Napoletana is delighted to announce its third Leeds pizzeria on Otley Road, Headingley this spring, bringing 2,500 free pizzas for everyone. Rudy’s Headingley will join City Centre and Chapel Allerton locations.

The neighbourhood pizzeria has been serving the perfect and classic Neapolitan pizza since 2015 from its original Rudy’s in Ancoats, Manchester; and is now extending its Leeds sites as it aims to serve up fresh Neapolitan pizza daily to the people of Headingley.

Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza.

Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients imported from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella.

All accordance to a truly authentic Neapolitan technique, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for just 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).

Neal Bates, Managing Director of Rudy's, said, “We are delighted to announce that our next Rudy’s site will be located on Headingley’s bustling Otley Road. Leeds has been incredibly welcoming to the Rudy’s famiglia since we first opened here in 2020, and we can’t wait to expand our sites in this city. Headingley is a great location for Rudy’s, and we can’t wait to open our doors this Spring.

The UK’s largest touring Gin & Rum festival will be returning to The Royal Armouries in Leeds on the 10th June! They have some big plans for 2023, which doesn’t include rising their ticket prices! With the huge impact of Covid on the events industry, this small midlands based drinks festival has fought through some turbulent times and it most likely won’t be the last difficulty they face.

However, this isn’t stopping them push forward and give everything they can to their customers. The Gin & Rum team said ‘Though we’ve been touring since 2018, a couple of those years were tainted by Covid. Now we’re back on track with booking new dates instead of rescheduling them.  We’ve had time to reflect and start to develop the festival even more, focusing on value for money and customer experience. With the cost of living crisis looming over all our heads too, this is something we’re having deal with promptly’.

At the moment when attending one of their events (£15 + booking fee), your ticket price includes entry, Gin and Rum guide, stainless steel metal straw, branded glass, live music, DJ, access to exclusive products and you can sample all the products available to purchase from the distillers exhibiting there.

The festival has partnered up with snack company LOVE CORN to bring a free snack to all their attendees in 2023. They noted ‘This is huge for us, we’re so excited to team up with such a fresh and exciting company. They’re completely unique and the team at LOVE CORN are great to work with. We’re sure they have a few more things up their sleeves’. With this, the team went on to tell us what else they have planned. ‘We understand everything is just simply costing more and we didn’t want to fall into that category. We want to be able to continue doing what we love for years to come, so if we can look after our customers, we’re sure they’ll look after us too. So, we’ve decided to include a free drink into the ticket price for 2023’.

From the Wednesday 30th November 2022 until Monday 12th December, they will also be running a pre-sale to all their confirmed dates for 2023. You can head over to their Facebook (@GinFestival) or website (ginandrumfestival.com) to bag a ticket!

The award-winning SALT Taps team are back bringing craft beer, cocktails ‘on tap’, and good vibes to Calls Landing this winter, adding tap no. 9 to their impressive portfolio. SALT has had an amazing year of success, with bars now spread across the North with two in London – Deptford and Woolwich. They show no signs of slowing down, opening their 8th tap in Oakwood just this month!

Famed for serving up a diverse selection of locally brewed craft beers they’ve got something for everyone, from the craft curious to the connoisseur. SALT are bringing something new to the riverside this winter, with the new bar featuring 20 different tequilas and their famous cocktail creations that will be available ‘On Tap’, with 8 different options to choose from. Picture everything from the timeless Pornstar Martini to a modern twist on a classic Blood Orange Margarita, perfect for Christmas drinks with friends. The winter menu will include a range of Yorkshire pies including the classic Steak and ale, chicken and bacon served with all the trimmings. Vegan options also available along with sweet treats including a selection of brownies.

True to the distinctive SALT brand, the bar will feature 4 cask ales, and 7 craft beers, including the popular Jute- Session IPA, new refreshing pale ale – Loom and Ossett Brewery’s crisp YON Lager.

Calls Landing has always had a proud heritage of food and drink. SALT is reawakening the site formerly occupied by Stew & Oyster and nestled below the ever-popular Ambiente Tapas bar. The atmospheric venue of Calls Landing is steeped in the industrial heritage of Leeds’ City Centre and has unrivalled views of the riverside, where guests can unwind after a busy workday. Expect a warm welcome from the established local team who have been busy becoming experts in all things SALT.

SALT Founder Jamie Lawson said: There’s something for everybody at SALT. Our latest venue will feature a bold and vibrant interior design against a backdrop of historic features creating a laid back environment for guests to unwind in. The latest home for all things SALT is the iconic Calls Landing building on the banks of the River Aire. The brick-built venue features original steel columns, oak flooring and low ceilings that create a unique welcome. With a host of great pubs in the neighbourhood, come and make Calls Landing a destination to remember.

We are very proud of how far we have come in such a short time; we have development plans in place to launch more taprooms across England in 2023 but for now we can’t wait to welcome the people of Leeds into our newest venue SALT Calls Landing, just in time for the busy festive season.

The purpose of beer is to create pleasure and we can’t wait to see you at the bar.
